Boy, what a week it has been. Between putting my last puppy down on Wednesday to the recent situation with Audrey, I was about to go crazy, so I'm glad the week is almost over.
On Thursday Audrey and I decided to go shopping. JC Penney was having a great sale so I went to buy a couple of dresses. Audrey was acting really sluggish and tired while we were there, so when I got her home I put her down for a nap. Well, she slept for about 2 hours, and I when I picked her up after she woke up, she was super hot. I immediately took her temperature and it was 102 degrees, so I gave her some baby Tylenol and my new mom freak out began. I didn't know what I was supposed to do, so I called my Mom and started bawling and asked if I should take her straight to the emergency room.
She told me to calm down and said that fevers were common in babies, and to just give it some time and see how the Tylenol did. It ended up bringing her fever down, and no ER that day, but the next day she still wasn't 100%. When I got off work Friday at 5:15, I got home and Matt said she had been screaming, and she was still feverish, so we decided to take her to a little quick care office to have her looked it. It had been more than 24 hours that she had a fever and I was worried, and I thought, "Better be safe than sorry."
Well, the PA checked her ears, throat, tummy, etc., and all looked great. She still had a fever, and he said since she showed no outward symptoms of what could be causing it, he felt more comfortable if we took her to the ER to have them run some more tests.
We took her the ER at the hospital where she was born, and she was looked at by some great nurses and an ER PA (or something along those lines), but they said that she really didn't exhibit any signs for concern, and that it was probably just a little virus she picked up somewhere along the way.
It's Saturday night/Sunday morning (12:30 am), and she has had a great day. She wasn't feverish at all today - what a HUGE relief. I was about to have a nervous breakdown - you new moms know what I am talking about (or I guess any mom whose baby is sick and you don't know what's wrong). I am so glad she is feeling better, and I know not to freak out so much next time.
Besides -I made a friend at the ER. One of the nurses had her baby the day after me, and I actually remembered seeing her walking the halls when I would take Audrey down to the nursery. Both our babies are doing great! What a small world! Everything happens for a reason.

Rest in Peace Kiko
Lend Me A Pup
I will lend to you for awhile a puppy, God said, For you to love him while he lives and to mourn for him when he is gone. Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe for two or three
I will lend to you for awhile a puppy, God said, For you to love him while he lives and to mourn for him when he is gone. Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe for two or three
But will you, till I call him back take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you and (should his stay be brief) you'll always have his memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise that he will stay, since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught belowI want this pup to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true And from the folk that crowd life's land I have chosen you. Now will you give him all your love Nor think the labour vain Nor hate me when I come to take my pup back again.
I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done," For all the joys this pup will bring, the risk of grief you'll run. Will you shelter him with tenderness Will you love him while you may And for the happiness you'll know forever grateful stay.
But should I call him back much sooner than you've planned Please brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand. If, by your love, you've managed my wishes to achieve, In memory of him that you've loved, cherish every moment with your faithful bundle, and know he loved you too.

Easter!
Happy Easter everybody!
This was Audrey's first Easter, and we started by visiting Grandpa Milon and Grandma Joycie's house Saturday evening. We had a great ham dinner with all the fixins', sat outside to enjoy the Spring air and gaze at the Llamas, and enjoy each other's company.
Sunday morning started with church where we got to hear Daddy sing "I believe in Christ", and when we got home we called Grandpa Chuck in Texas to wish him a Happy Easter and ask if he found his Easter Egg yet...
After the call to Texas we went over to Grandpa Darryl and Grandma Diane's and had another great ham dinner with all the fixins', and played outside withKiko for a little while.
Here are some more shots of Audrey in her Easter dress:

Relaxing at the Cabin House and Crazy Hair
We took baby Audrey to the cabin for the first time, and it was very relaxing and fun! We did a whole lot of sitting around, reading, and napping. Audrey did great!
I was a little concerned about how she would sleep in a different environment, but we took her pack and play (which she sleeps in right now), so I think the fact that she was in her own bed helped.
We spent three days, two nights, and had a blast!
(Here we are reading "Little Women" at the cabin.)
I have recently started putting Audrey's unruly hair up in pigtails, and she looks super cute! When we went to the store to buy some little bows, we had to ask where the bows were, and the worker said, "I don't think your baby is old enough to have enough hair to put bows in!" I was like, "You wanna bet!?!"
(Audrey's hair once the pigtails come out...)
