A couple weeks later we took Audrey and Kellen to the zoo. Audrey has been to a couple of zoos before, but this was Kellen's first trip. We went with Matt's parents and his sister, Melyssa and her three kids. It was a great day to go to the zoo. A little chilly, but at least the animals were all out of their cages and interested in what was going on. We have been to the zoo before when it was too hot for the animals to come out, so the cooler weather was a welcome surprise for a June Zoo Day! Audrey and her cousins got to feed a giraffe and some goats and sheep, and go to explore all sorts of different animals. We also got to walk through the butterfly house. There are hundreds of different butterflies of all shapes, sizes and colors in the butterfly house, and almost everyone gets to experience the excitement of a butterfly landing on them! It took a while for a butterfly to land on Audrey, and she was really upset about it, but right before we left the exhibit a butterfly landed on her! Unfortunately I was holding her and didn't get a picture of her, but her Grandpa Milon did I think, so I'll have to get that from him!
This past week we took the kids to a local nature center on my day off. It's a beautiful little nature scene right downtown, and it's free of charge, so it's the perfect little family get-away! It even had a mommy and baby deer walking around when we first walked in.
The kids are getting so big so fast. Kellen is crawling and has 1 tooth so far, and Audrey is just a little spit-fire, always raring to go and wanting to learn new things. They are so much fun, though more work than I ever thought possible! The beautiful thing is, I would not trade it for anything in the world.
The water was so clear! Look at the size of the sturgeon on the right!

I don't know what I was saying, but Audrey was making friends with the giraffe.
